How to Recognize an Esoteric School of Awakening

Friday, December 10th, 2010

An Esoteric School of Awakening possesses practical knowledge of the laws governing awakening from sleep to consciousness; and it is able to give guidance on working with these laws. These are fine words but how do you realize that you are in an Esoteric School of Awakening?

The first thing we can say is that an Esoteric School of Awakening is about the deliberate creation of increasingly longer periods of Conscious Presence – to yourself, your daily work, and what/who is about you. It is very clear and definite about conscious presence being the most important thing. Anything else is of subsidiary importance.

A School of Awakening emphasizes the efforts to be consciously present in every moment. In the process of research and knowledge is important, especially at the beginning. But later, knowledge assumes a subsidiary role, being applied in actual personal efforts.

The fruits of an Esoteric School of Awakening are actual conscious people. No other reason for the school to exist. But these people will not necessarily be recognized by anyone as conscious, because their state is internal. Anybody can tell you they are conscious and that you cannot see it; but the real test comes when after a time you can ask yourself am I more conscious these days than I used to be? If you are sincere with yourself, you will know the answer. Anything, you will realize others who are working on themselves as you.

In a School being is more important than experiences. Anybody can have spiritual experiences. Being is when you can be aware present to yourself and your situation, and take right action according to your own understanding, in spite of your personal habits and weaknesses, sometimes under conditions of great personal pressure.

A School tests your being – even before you join it. Many tests are already in place and for genuine seekers these are trivial. They are largely tests of determination and sincerity. After you join there will be further tests. None of these are difficult, at least not in the beginning. As time goes on the tests develop in line with your personal development and Being (your ability to deal with them).

An Esoteric School of Awakening deals with timeless objective knowledge. You will not find any new theories or discoveries. This is due to a simple fact – that all Schools of Awakening throughout history are connected; there is no need to ‘re-invent the wheel’.

Finally, an Esoteric School of Awakening is always connected with C-Influence. This is an effect that may not be perceivable to some in the starting, but continually guides and checks you even when you are alone, often giving you answers in the very moment you need them. However, by the time you recognize C-Influence you will probably have already verified you are in an Esoteric School of Awakening.

Esoteric Astrology

Do you believe that there exists a spiritual realm? Are you more interested in learning about esoteric astrology than about the mundane or the classical kind? Is information on the former branch of the pseudo-science that is astrology what you’re looking for?

Well, here’s a simple guide on finding the best and most comprehensive libraries on esotericism:

1. Town Library: The ever reliable and humble town library at your service. As the public’s official keeper of various tomes, as the whole town designated it to, you should never fail to check this place out. It might not have the most books, as it is government-funded, but it might have the best collection of old books, newspapers, and magazines. What do you know this ancient collection might have a series on esotericism?

2. University Library: Any trustworthy university that is still operational today always has at least one library to its name. It can be found inside school premises and is where most students do their studying and researching. As long as you ask permission from the proper authorities, you can use library facilities for free and without the disturbance that town libraries have been cursed with.

3. Internet: Though possibly the easiest to use and access, the downside to getting your information from the World Wide Web is how unreliable the facts from these information can be because of the current proliferation of plagiarists and make-believers. This is because anybody – just about anyone – can set up their own website with site visitors not having a clue as to the authenticity of the information the site is sharing. The next best thing for you to do then if you use the Internet in your researches is to check if the website creator properly attributed the articles found in the site.

4. Astrologer: An in-depth interview of a real, live practitioner of esoteric astrology can become an option too. If genuine information is what you’re looking for, you might get more than what you bargained for. You might get a reading or two from an astrologer and the stuff you’ve always wanted to know about esotericism.

5. This is simply a guide. You can take it as it is or you may not. You always have the option to look for other resources on esotericism study you’re doing.

Just remember that if you plan on writing a book or two of your researches and your personal journey towards learning this pseudo-science, always attribute. Do not claim a particular knowledge, a piece of information, or any resource for that matter as your own. Use the data you gathered properly by writing from the heart and from personal experience and encounters of this branch of astrology.
